The Problem

What needed to change?

When educational institutions shut down during the COVID-19 lockdown, they were left without a scalable way to maintain continuity.

Existing LMS platforms were often too complex, prohibitively expensive, or failed to support the specific mentor-driven workflows required for classroom-style learning. The challenge was to bridge this massive gap with a fast, reliable, and accessible digital solution that worked for everyone, regardless of their technical proficiency.

My Responsibilities

  • Stakeholder Alignment: Gathered and synthesized requirements from school administrators, teachers, and IT staff.
  • Accessibility Design: Designed intuitive, lightweight learning interfaces specifically for students using low-end devices.
  • Modular Systems: Created flexible lesson management tools that mirrored real-world teacher workflows.
  • Agile Leadership: Facilitated sprint execution and rigorous testing cycles with distributed development teams.
  • Full-Cycle Design: Led the end-to-end UX process, moving from foundational wireframes to high-fidelity, production-ready prototypes.

The Approach

How we got there.

01

Discovery

  • Contextual Research: Interviewed administrators and teachers to understand diverse classroom styles and hardware constraints.
  • Constraint Mapping: Identified a critical need for modular, "zero-training" tools that performed reliably on weak internet connections and older smartphones.
02

Strategy & UX

  • Role-Based Architecture: Designed a mobile-first LMS with distinct, streamlined access for Admins, Class Coordinators, Content Creators, Teachers, and Students.
  • Simplified Navigation: Created clear, linear paths for viewing lessons, submitting work, and tracking individual progress.
  • White-Label Flexibility: Enabled a modular deployment system so that institutions could brand the LMS as their own.
03

Delivery & Iteration

  • Rapid Deployment: Rolled out the functional MVP in under 4 weeks to ensure learning remained uninterrupted during the peak of the lockdown.
  • Real-Time Feedback: Utilized WhatsApp groups for immediate user feedback, allowing for rapid-fire iterations and improvements.
  • Support Optimization: Integrated usage analytics and role-based onboarding to proactively reduce support queries.

The Outcome

Results that speak.

The strategic focus on speed and accessibility delivered immediate, tangible impact for institutions and learners:

  • Educational Continuity: Enabled 5,000+ students across multiple institutions to continue their education without disruption.
  • Operational Efficiency: Achieved a 40% reduction in teacher workload by simplifying lesson uploads and streamlining student follow-ups.
  • Market Readiness: Successfully delivered a "remote-ready" platform that balanced professional-grade features with extreme ease of use.
